Namah

Privacy Policy

Effective [DATE] · Last updated [DATE]

Namah ("we", "us") makes a devotional practice app. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it lives, and the control you have. Our guiding principle is minimisation: we hold as little about you as the service allows, we never sell it, and we show no advertising.

1. What we collect

CategoryWhatWhy
AccountYour email address — only if you sign in with Apple or Google. Before sign-in your account is anonymous. To sync your practice across devices and let you recover it.
DeviceA generated device identifier, platform and app version. To deliver sync and notifications to the right device.
Your practiceThe pujas you keep, reminders, checklists, resume position, completion history and commitments you set. This is the service — it is stored so it travels across your devices.
Consent recordWhich purposes you have granted, and the policy version. To honour your choices and prove we did.
Usage analyticsPseudonymous, first-party events (e.g. a puja was completed) keyed by an internal id — never your email. Only collected if you grant the analytics purpose. To understand which practices help and improve the app.
Crash dataDiagnostic crash reports with personal fields scrubbed out.To find and fix defects.
Subscription statusWhether you have Namah Plus, via our payments provider. We never see your card.To unlock Plus content you paid for.

We do not collect your contacts, precise background location, or use any third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

2. Consent, and your control over analytics

Analytics and crash reporting are off until you grant them during onboarding. You can withdraw consent at any time; when you do, we stop collecting and begin erasing the affected data. Sync of your own practice data is part of providing the service you asked for.

3. Where your data lives

Your account and practice data are stored in a managed database hosted in India (Mumbai region). Content and static files are served from a global content-delivery network. Some processors below may operate outside India; where they do, transfers are made under appropriate safeguards.

4. Who processes data for us

We use a small set of service providers strictly to run Namah. Each acts under contract and only on our instructions:

5. How long we keep it, and deletion

We keep your account and practice data for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all of its data from inside the app (Me → Account → Delete account & data). This erases your records across every store, including our analytics archive, and removes your subscriber record and analytics profile with our providers. Deletion is irreversible and completes within the period the law requires.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under India's DPDP Act and the GDPR) you may ask to access, correct, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise access, correction and deletion directly in the app; for anything else, contact us below. You also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority.

7. Children

Namah is not directed to children under [AGE], and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to the systems that hold personal data is restricted and audited. No system is perfectly secure, but we design for minimisation so there is little to expose.

9. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
